On 09/21/2016 students of the body and vehicle technicians from the State Technical School in Kaiserslautern with Mr. Matheis and Dr. Theobald had the opportunity to see at the Sauter Engineering + Design behind the scenes.
The Sauter Engineering + Design is a competent development partner of renowned industrial companies. The focus of the company are in the design and implementation of complex assemblies through to series production. The aim is to shorten the development time of new product ideas in the product development process. The core business includes the following areas:
• Design • Product development • Industrial Metrology • Prototyping
First put the company founder and CEO Stephan Sauter, the company was founded in 1999 to interested visitors in a presentation before.
Then went to visit for the first priority, the development of the company. Here, new constructions on the most modern CAD workstations and Automotive Surfacing volumes are processed. At diverse workplaces CAD systems ICEM SURF were; Catia V5 and Siemens NX presented. Using practical examples, the project management has been identified as that encountered in the workplace every day. The many interesting questions could readily be explained with examples.
A second tour of gravity made the air-conditioned measuring room. Here are various measured process components to a rayed (computed tomography), as detected with high-precision scanners (GOM), the geometry in the CAD 3D. The highly accurate non-contact digitizing the surfaces, the components are qualified in terms of dimensional accuracy. Secondly, the interior of the components can be screened to detect such vulnerabilities such as cavities and pores.
On the way to the resident workshops of Sauter AG Carrosserie + Vehicle explained Markus Sauter, Managing Director of Sauter Engineering + Design office in D- Herrenberg the properties of the additive manufacturing with the in-house FDM manufacturing facility.
The senior Roland Sauter led the interested groups 2 through the workshop where vehicles repaired, be set up and new varnished.
At lunch and very interesting discussions ended the day.
